Houff Corporation began in 1975 on a family farm in the Shenandoah Valley. At the time, liquid fertilizer application was a new concept and the Houff family saw an opportunity to provide this service to other farms in the area. Over the years, the company expanded its agricultural services to include liquid fertilizer, dry fertilizer, crop protection, seed sales, and ammonia control for poultry houses. In the early 2000’s, Houff Corporation once again saw an opportunity to expand, this time into the industrial services sector, through transloading and biosolids management. While our company has since grown significantly outside of the agricultural sector, we did not leave behind our roots. Our can-do attitude and determination to get the job done are values we bring with us to each new enterprise.
Our Sister Companies
Houff Corporation is one of three companies that make up Railside Enterprises. Our sister companies Blue Ridge Petroleum and IDM Trucking help us to meet the needs of our clients through shared resources and labor. In 1999, the three companies under Railside Enterprises began distributing stock to employees through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Today, Railside Enterprises is 49% employee owned.
A Culture Of Determination.
Houff Corporation is proud and appreciative of our team who make all of our services possible. Many of our employees were raised in the agricultural community and we believe the can-do attitude and determination they learned on the farm is one of our keys to success. As a company, we seek to replicate this culture in each new venture.
A Mission Of Excellence.
At Houff Corporation, we believe strongly in providing the highest quality of service to our customers. Whether you are interested in crop advice or transloading services, you can rely on the team at Houff to be professional and dependable. Throughout our history, our mission has remained the same: to create value for our customers through dependable service.
